Why "smother-and-isolate"?
Once lithium battery thermal runaway occurs, combustion temperatures can exceed 800°C, and internal chemical reactions in the battery continue to release oxygen. Traditional extinguishing methods (water, foam, dry powder) struggle to put out such fires effectively and may even cause secondary accidents.
Our strategy: rather than trying to forcibly extinguish the battery fire, we isolate the burning AGV inside a sealed fire protection cover and let the battery burn itself out in an oxygen-deprived environment. At the same time, the spread of fire is blocked, protecting surrounding equipment, goods and personnel.
- Isolate the fire source: sealed enclosure blocks fire spread
- Consume oxygen: aerosol fills the space, suppressing combustion
- Burn itself out: let the battery burn out in a controlled environment
- Protect the surroundings: no impact on nearby equipment and goods
